Is this spring or did we just skip right over that and its really summer?! Whatever the case, we have been enjoying it and taking full advantage of the weather outside! As you can see from my pictures last weekend, we were all about the water hose, which they both had hours of fun using and swimming in the pool all weekend. Both of them have lived in their bathing suits! Griffin especially got a kick out of holding the hose while Claire took a drink-then he must have drank a gallon himself! Claire had fun exploring a la her visit with Sid the Science Kid on Friday. As you can see from the zip lock bag of goodies, she was collecting "clues" from the yard to help in her "investigation" of where the crickets were hiding! Not kidding-we went out to get the mail one evening and she said she heard the crickets chirping and wanted to know where they were....and the investigation commenced! Claire had fun jumping into the pool off of her shopping cart too. Sunday was my birthday so Jeff and I celebrated with dinner out on Saturday (thanks to David watching them for the first time!) and all 4 of us went to brunch at Mimi's Cafe on Sunday morning, complete with a celebratory delicious bloody mary for me! We then drove to Patsy and Mike's house for some playground time and fun with them while Jeff and David hit the golf course. Another highlight, as you can see from the Coming Soon signs, is that only a few minutes from our house (and beside the Target we frequent) is a Sweet Frog! As you can also see, we have quite the climber on our hands! Griffin climbed into the pack-n-play and I even caught his dismount, as you can see. Whew, Claire never did all that-must definitely be a "boy" thing :) Claire spent a lot of time "setting up a town" on Sunday, complete with a farm, house, pirate ship, tree house and cement truck...every town needs a pirate ship AND a cement truck, right? She was very proud and took great care in setting it up just perfectly. Perhaps one of the funnier things that happened over the weekend was hearing what Claire had to say to Jeff. She was going to bed and told me she wanted to get something to drink. She went to the top of the stairs and asked Jeff to bring her some juice. He was in the bathroom at the time and told her she would have to come down and get it herself. The response I heard her mutter to herself, "You're killing me, Daddy, you're killing me"! Geez! I'll give you one guess as to where she has heard that from...and its not from me! It was pretty funny, nonetheless! I also got a chuckle out of her response to Griffin fussing in his high chair at Mike and Patsy's house, "I know you're frustrated Griffy, I know. Just a minute and we'll get you out". And again when he was crying in the car, "I know you're hungry Griffy, I know you are. We're almost home and then we'll get something to eat. Just hang on buddy". Its funny to hear what you say repeated to you by a 3 year old! On Saturday night, I downloaded an app for her from the website, pbskids.org. It had all sorts of videos on it from some of her many favorite shows, Sesame Street, Sid the Science Kid, Curious George, Super Why, etc. On Sunday morning, Claire crawled into bed and said, "Mommy, I want to watch videos from pbskids.org. Let me tell you that hearing your child say ".org" is hilarious!
