7 Things About Griffin at 7 Weeks Old:
1. He's SMILING at us all the time! I love that we can make him smile!
2. He has slept 8 hours without waking for 3 nights in a row (and a fourth night in the middle of them was 7 hours straight!)!!! The only thing I can think that may be helping is that in his next to last feed of the day, we are giving him a bottle, which might be making him more full? This is his 6/7:00pm feeding. He's then ready to eat again around 9 or so. This is the only thing that was done differently the first night he slept 8 hours straight and that we have kept doing. Who knows? He's still sleeping in our room, but if he keeps up with the good sleeping, I will probably move him into his crib in his room. I'm kind of enjoying him being in there with us for now :)
3. He's still wearing mostly the newborn size in Carters clothing and 0-3 in Gymboree. (Those are pretty much the 2 brands of clothes he owns). Some 0-3 in Gymboree are still a little big; it depends on the cut. I think he'll be up to 3 months in Carters in another 2 weeks or so. He could handle them now in length but other than that, they swallow him.
4. His eyes are a very dark/deep colored blue-different than how Claire's eyes are now-but still a shade of blue. It will be interesting to see if they change or stay the same!
5. We are giving him one bottle/day and I am trying to pump once/day too, to get some extra milk and keep up my supply. When he does take a bottle, he's eating anywhere from 3-4 ounces. Sometimes he'll take the full 4oz and then 30 minutes or so after that has settled, he wants to nurse. I'm not sure if that's because he's still hungry or if he wants a pacifier.
6. On that note, he does not take a passy. He has no interest!
7. He seems to light up and really stare at me when I sing any of the songs that I sing to Claire each night when I put her to bed. I have sang (sung?) the same 5 or 6 songs to her every night since she was a baby, so needless to say, when Griffin was in my tummy, he heard me sing those songs to her night after night after night. Its kind of cool how he seems to recognize them! :)
check out those baby blues (and his spikey hair up top!)
Big Sister Claire making chocolate and pumpkin cupcakes! She's been taking out our cupcake pans and dragging the chair over to the island on a daily basis ever since I enlisted her as my helper in the kitchen!
Woo-hoo! 7 weeks old!
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS SMILE!
