We spent 4th of July week at the Outer Banks, staying in Kill Devil Hills, for our vacation this year. We had an absolute blast! The weather could not have been more perfect, nor could have the location of our house. We were a really short walk to the beach and smack dab in the middle of everywhere you would want to be in terms of restaurants, shopping, entertainment of all sorts, etc.! The pool in our backyard was a MUST, as Claire would have stayed in there until dark if we let her :) We did tons of legos, which C & G love...and we all loved reliving our childhood. I watched the entire first season of Scandal on DVD, we relaxed, ate great beach food, did some outlet shopping and even got to see friends from home (Rachel and Chad) and friends from very afar (Alison and Ella). Jeff and David got to play golf twice and go down and see the boats at Oregon Inlet a few times (and yes, go bowling a few times). It was awesome to have Mary Alice and Eric there to share in this vacation with us and as extra super helpful hands to help out with the kids...and let them snuggle in their beds at nap time, throw them and catch them in the pool, make them meals and anything and everything else we needed! It was also fun to get to know Tina better and spend time with her and Uncle D! We can't WAIT for next year's OBX trip! |
