14 Week Highlights

Highlights of 14 weeks:
  • looking oh so cute in my 3 month clothes! babies look so cute once they don't look like they are drowning in their clothes

  • smiles, smiles, smiles! he smiles when he sees us in person and now too when he sees our reflection in the mirror!
  • laughing, laughing, laughing! i think it was monday that my cell phone rang and when i answered expecting to hear jeff, all i heard was griffin just belly laughing through the phone. he is definitely ticklish!

  • bumbo sitting! he has really gotten stronger over the past 2 weeks and just today i felt like he could hold himself up enough in there to be pretty comfortable.

  • trying to sit up on his own-he is so strong! when we put him in the popason (sp?) seat, he uses his stomach muscles to pull himself forwards-if we didn't start strapping him in, he would definitely be able to propel himself out of the seat! he does the same when we are holding him-earlier today we were on the sofa and he just sat right up in my arms!

  • ok so this is not a highlight, rather a lowlight. my angel sleeper had a broken halo this week. he was up more this week than he ever was as a newborn-what gives?! ok so maybe i mistakenly ate chilli at my sister's house last sunday and that's why sunday night, monday, and maybe even tuesday were long nights (so sorry, griffin!) but what do we blame wednesday, thursday, and friday on?!
  • saturday night he redeemed himself-went to bed at 10pm and woke up at 8am-ahhhh!

  • first snow-griffin got to see our first snow of the year and the first snow of his lifetime-enough to heavily dust our yard and deck and still be there when we woke up this morning

  • he's trying so hard to roll over from his back to his tummy! he spends much of his time on the activity mat trying to make this happen!

  • toes! griffin has definitely found his little toes and is quite fond of his right foot, especially haha!
  • he's still wanting his bottle every 3 hours-pretty much on the dot! he's eating 4.5 to 5.5oz at each feeding and eating 5-6 times/day. i'm still giving his exclusively breastmilk-the pumping at work is going very well and i've been able to keep up with his appetite. its a ton of work-i just commented to jeff that i feel like my life revolves around 3 hour increments, but its worth it!
