On Easter Sunday, Jeff, Claire, and I took part in the Richmond tradition of Easter on Parade down Monument Avenue. It seems like everyone who owns a dog in Richmond, (and even those who don't, for that matter) were out and about on the several blocks of Monument Avenue that were blocked off for people to "parade" up and down. There were corn dogs and funnel cake, fire jugglers, live music, and of course, The Easter Bunny. There were thousands and thousands of people there with their dogs and over 10,000 people in general. Some of the dogs were dressed up and participated in the Easter Bonnet contest. There was one for canines and one for humans! See below for some of the crazy "bonnets" people wore. What started out as a very chilly day, ended up being a beautiful, sunny 68 degrees! The people watching was fantastic-it was fun to match up the owner to the dogs :)
