Shame on Mommy for being so behind on the blog! The Saturday after Christmas, Jeff fly to California to visit David. After a very, shall we say, "eventful", day and a half in the Richmond, Atlanta, Las Vegas, and Las Vegas airports, he finally arrived! Laura and Claire went down to Carson for the night to visit friends and family. Adrienne came to play on Saturday night, Great Aunt and Uncle Harold came for a visit, and we all went down to Great-Great-Aunt Annie's house to visit her. Claire had a lot of fun in the walker at Grandma's house. While she would only go backwards-very funny to watch-she seemed to like to go where she wanted to go. At one point she went from one end of the kitchen to the other, around the corner, and into the laundry room, and out of sight!
Grandma Becca came back with them to stay with Claire while Laura went back to work for a few days. Claire had so much fun playing with Grandma for 4 days straight-talk about being spoiled! Grandma helped Laura make homemade baby food for Claire-we have enough peas, carrots, and green beans to last for months! Claire tried carrots and green beans for the first time and really seemed to like them. She laughed and laughed while "riding the horsey" over and over again on Grandma's leg! We didn't quite make it to the ball drop this year, to say the least but are excited for the New Year-here's to 2009!
We're having fun working on crawling-Claire gets up on her knees and likes to rock back and forth. We took Grandma to WholeFoods for the first time and ate lunch from their many salad/tofu bars-we don't know everything that we ate but it was a yummy change from the norm! Claire had her 6 month appointment and got rave reviews! She was 17 lbs, 12 oz. and 26 inches long! After Grandma left, Mary Alice and her dachshund, Chander, came to visit! The three of us rented movies, went shopping, and did lots of fun girly things together :) Meanwhile, Jeff and David were travelling state to state, back home to Virginia. They made stops in Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Tennesse, before finally landing back in Montpelier. Claire and Laura were sooooo glad to have Daddy back and excited to see Uncle D!
